RAISING HOPE CAMPAIGN PROGRESS

The hospital’s inaugural Shands Cancer Hospital at UF Campaign has raised $29 million towards its goal of $55 million. Many donors have committed their gifts to building the Shands Cancer Hospital at UF.

Raising Hope at Work Employee Campaign: Our first-ever Shands Employee Campaign was a tremendous success! Through our committee’s efforts, a total of $1.5 million was raised in support of the capital campaign. More than 1,800 employees took part in this historic campaign.

Cancer Campaign Around the State: Congratulations to Chairman, Becky Allen and the Vero Beach committee for their recent kick-off event. Similar functions are planned for Jacksonville, Palm Beach, Tallahassee, Sarasota and Tampa/Clearwater. Chairs Marshall Criser and Allen Lastinger are helping launch a comprehensive phone and direct mail campaign to reach as many prospects as possible throughout the state.

Special thanks to our state committee:
Marshall Criser & Allen Lastinger – State Phase Co-Chairs
Becky Allen – Vero Beach
Andy Cheney – Jacksonville
Sid Stubbs – Palm Beach
Cynthia O’Connell – Tallahassee
Scott Collins– Sarasota

Community Phase: Mark and Mary Wise have graciously accepted to serve as the Community Phase Honorary Co-Chairs. Community Phase Co-Chairs Marilyn Tubb and Sam Holloway and the committee are preparing for the Garden of Hope kickoff in March 2009. Additional garden parties hosted by community members will follow the kickoff. Co-chairs of the Oak Hammock committee Paula Criser and Margo Powers hosted a tour and brunch for donors and interested Oak Hammock community members in February 2009.  back to top
