Join Us For A Night for Heroes 2010Join Shands Jacksonville for the third annual A Night for Heroes on January 30, 2010. The black-tie gala is the signature event for Shands Jacksonville and will be held at Malone AirCharter at Craig Airport. The gala will honor a trauma patient whose life was saved over the past year. We also will honor the men and women of our community who care for trauma victims and support their families. These heroes include University of Florida physicians, Shands’ nurses, TraumaOne flight crew, fire rescue and police, and many more. This is an up-lifting and emotional occasion and an opportunity to honor many of the unsung heroes of our wonderful trauma system. Shands Jacksonville is home to the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, serving 27 counties in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. The unit provides life-saving care to more than 4,000 trauma victims each year and provides comfort to victims’ families. Proceeds from A Night for Heroes support trauma family services, staff training and necessary lifesaving state-of-the-art equipment.
